Rotavator / Rotary Tiller Overview – Uses and Functions

A rotary tiller also popularly known as rotavator is farm equipment used for soil preparation before planting seeds. It is used as a tractor attachment pulled behind it to break up topsoil. It consists of rotating blades also known as rotors attached either to the rear or front of a tiller. These rotating blades spin and cut through the soil to make it ideal for planting. It breaks clods, moisturizes and pulverize the soil providing a healthy environment for plants growth and to get a high yield.

The rotary tiller is mainly used to cultivate the land and is very popular among farmers as it works effectively. It is cheaper in terms of maintenance, economical to use and also requires less space. The type of rotavator a farmer needs to use depends on the texture of the soil. Rotavators can be set to operate at different speeds that allow rotors or blades to move slower or faster. A farmer should try attest run first of a rotary tiller on the soil to decide its speed. A farmer not only needs to be careful when it comes to choosing the right rotavator for his farm but the attention also needed to use and maintain it properly.

Uses and Function of a Rotavator or Rotary Tiller:

·         Break the clods in the soil and loosen it giving a smooth surface to topsoil.

·         Prepares a perfect of seedbed for sowing.

·         Turning the topsoil allows plants to absorb maximum amount of nutrient available in the soil.

·         Helps in increasing the crop yield.

·         Kills the weeds and removes old crop residue.

Rotavator is versatile machinery that can be used in primary as well as secondary tillage which makes it suitable for different types of soils. It is mostly used for cultivating vegetables and in paddy field.

Tractor Trailer | Tractor Trailer Overview

Tractor Trailer

trailer is an unpowered engineering vehicle towed by a powered vehicle. It is generally used for the transport of goods and materials.

tractor trailer is one of the most popular tractor accessories, used for loading/unloading agricultural goods or other construction material from one place to another. it is a tractor driven farm implements. It saves time and human effort and makes productivity double. In the era of mechanization, there are various types of trailers used as per requirement. Here are some of the trailer types are listed below:

Tractor Trailer Types

3 Way Tipping Trailer

  • Ideal for loading/unloading goods/materials produced by farm or construction work.
  • 3 sided tipping design with a single-cylinder, due to this it is easy for unloading the goods.
  • high-grade hub, axle, bearings & 3-way tipping mechanism increase durability & reliability of the trailer.
  • Easily transportable as it gets easily attached/ mounted with the tractor

3 way tipping trailer

Tipping Trailer

  • It is used for loading, unloading goods by simply tipping them which saves the overall cost of transportation.
  • It is easily transportable and easily attached to the tractor
  • It is uniquely designed for towing and loading stability.
  • Wide tubeless tires.
  • High-grade hub, axle, bearings & tipping mechanism enhance the life of the trailer

What is a Disc Harrow? Disc Harrow Type.

In the current era of mechanization, farmers are using various types of tillage implement like a rotary tiller, ripper, power harrow, plow, cultivators, etc according to the need and soil conditions, disc harrow is one of them. It is a secondary tillage implement used for soil preparation for planting or sowing purposes.

Disc Harrow - It is one of the popular tractor implement attached on the tow hook. It helps in breaking up clods and surface crusts, It also enhances soil granulation and surface uniformity, It prevents weed growth and destroys existing weeds. The major benefit of using a disc harrow, it till the soil where crops are to be planted. It is also used to chop up unwanted weeds or crop residues.

disc harrows are tractor-driven and are supported either by a three-point lift or hydraulically by wheels. The large ones have side sections that can be raised vertically or that fold up to allow easier road transport or to provide better storage configurations.

Reversible MB Plough Overview

In the era of mechanization, Farmar uses various types of farm machinery like a combine harvester, rotavator, cultivator, baler, mulcher, seeder, plough and many more to perform farming activity efficiently.

reversible plough is a specially designed farm plough use for turning the soil level upside and downside, It can directly mount with a tractor. It is one of the hydraulically mechanized farm implements used for the preparation of the soil. It is ideal for use in hard and dry trashy stumpy land conditions. It works from both sides & it automatically changes the position while plowing hence it minimize our time & fuel consumption. It is ideal for a big piece of land.

reversible mb plough

Benefits of Reversible Plough

  • Specially designed plough use for turning the soil level from both sides
  • It performs the toughest plowing job due to his excellent penetration power.
  • It widely used in stony & rooted soils

Features of Reversible Plough

  • Extra furrow or repositioning units of plough allow extra clearance quickly and easily.
  • Wear-resistant steel bottoms including bar points that help to perform the toughest plowing jobs
  • Bar point bottoms ensure longer life of reversible MB plough as they can be extended or reversed and re-used till the last possible length.

Tractor Harvester | Combine Harvester

The combine harvester is one of the great inventions in the history of the agriculture machinery industry. Most of us even don't imagine this type of invention, and It has a huge impact on our life.

So, now what is combine harvester exactly?

It is versatile farm machinery that’s designed to efficiently harvest a variety of crops—separating straw from the nutrients left in it.

In the era of mechanization, the combine is considered as one of the most economically important labor-saving inventions. In fact, combine harvester is responsible for significantly reducing the number of individuals required to farm.

It is used to harvest a variety of grains such as wheat, oats, maize, sorghum, rice, soybeans, sunflowers, and many other crops, combine works as all in one machine.

Instead of using separate agricultural machinery for different farming activities like threshing, winnowing and grain reaping the harvester can combine all these farming activities into a single step, due to this fact in the modern era, the combine is considered as one of the most popular labor-saving inventions.

Difference between tilling and plowing?

It is a universal truth that everyone learns from experience, But if you are new in the field of Agriculture or Farming, this post will help you to know about tilling and plowing.

Tilling vs. Plowing

Tilling

Tilling is one of the processes of farm preparation of the soil by breaking the soil apart mechanically. The process doesn’t go deeper it hardly works than afoot. Tilling can only be done 12 inches or lower.

In the ancient time around 1800-1900 centuries ago, tilling was done manually — usually with a hoe, mattock, rake, or shovel.

Plowing

Technically, plowing is a type of tilling process. However, it usually connotes a more specific kind of ‘tilling’.

However, Plowing is the more extreme version of tilling. It uses to crushes any trash, small plants, and weed roots along the way. This brings fresh nutrients to the surface while burying the remains of previous crops, allowing them to break down.

Centuries ago, this is done by installing a plow behind working animals.

In recent times, both tilling and plowing both can be done with farm implements such as a disk harrow, Keep in mind that you need to install the right kind of attachments and blades to get the results you want.

Impact of Rotavator as a Conservation Tillage Implement

Tillage is on the basic farming operation. It is generally done due to creating an ideal seedbed preparation and plant growth, this operatio...
